The Kiwanis Club of High Point meets every Friday for lunch followed by a program at the High Point Country Club. We have a tradition of service to both our community and to the projects sponsored by Kiwanis International. Our members are actively involved in many service projects and are committed to the Kiwanis International mission of volunteers changing the world one child and one community at a time.  Come and join us.

Congratulations to Claire Robinson!!

Christmas Cheer Fund

The Kiwanis elves gave out bags of toys for over 1,350 youth and over 4,000 books this past Saturday as part of our Christmas Cheer toy giveaway.  The parents receiving the toys for their children were so grateful. Some were even in tears as they were handed the bag of toys. We also partnered with United Way and included in every bag of toys a Lead Safe High Point flyer for parents on Lead Safety. Special thanks to Wiley Stockton, Ed Thomas, chairs, Joan Campbell, Jim Horney, Mark Seagle, Lynn Johnson and everyone who helped in any way and also to Dave Roberson, advisor and the youth from High Point Central Key Club, William Hale, advisor and the youth from Penn Griffin Key Club and our Aktion Club for participating.

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Our Kiwanis ALS Ice Bucket Challenge was a big success.  We want to thank each of you that participated and/or made a donation to the cause.  On Friday, we learned that ALS raised $3 million in 2013.  Now, the fundraising totals over $101 million in 2014 thanks to the Ice Bucket Challenge and the social media sensation it has caused.  It was fun (lots of laughter), cold, and most of all completely worth it.
